New York Fashion Week Favorites

Fashion week has started! As New York just ended their fashion week, we await for London, Paris, & Milan fashion week to began. A few of my favorite designers from NYFW are Snow Xue Gao, Alice + Olivia, and Libertine’s Spring 2020 Ready-to-Wear collections. They all took a fun, unique approach by playing with prints and colors in a way that is eye catching and magical.

1. Snow Xue Gao

As an emerging designer, Gao’s collection was phenomenal. This collection took a very fun take on business wear. I’ve never seen suits and business attire look this fun to wear. There were a variety of prints that were all so creative yet the whole collection still had cohesion. I’m definitely a new fan of Gao.

2. Alice + Olivia

This was my favorite collection. Alice + Olivia never fails to disappoint. (Ok, maybe I’m just a tad bias since it’s one of my favorite brands lol). But seriously, there was such a variety in this collection. There were fun bright color blocked looks, to prints, to calmer nude and white pieces. It was spot on for Spring. A variety of customers with various tastes could shop this collection.

3. Libertine

This was definitely a show stopping collection. It’s one of those collections that people will either love or hate; there’s no in between. But I absolutely love it! I’m disappointed that I had never heard of Libertine before because looking at this collection and previous ones…. I’m in love. The creativity in this collection and how amazing these multiple prints mixed together into one print look is mind blowing. 10/10.

I can’t wait to see what the following fashion weeks have in store. Next up, London fashion week.

Black History

Happy Black History Month ✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿

~Black people are so versatile and we come in sooo many different shades. It’s so easy for people to get caught up in complexion and comparisons not realizing no matter the complexion, we all share the same rich history.

~All shades of Black are beautiful & I admire how us as a people all share the same roots, history, culture, and ability to always overcome  and create something beautiful out of what’s given to us. Happy Black history Month my beautiful people!
